Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced AHP lead with a strong understanding of community services and inpatient services. Full time (37.5 hours) or part time (30 hours) will be considered.
Reporting directly to the Head of Nursing, AHP & Quality you will provide leadership and strategic direction for AHPs (as defined by the HCPC), developing and implementing standards across Community Health Services (CHS) directorate which support professional development and leadership, competence, capacity and standards of conduct leading to safe, high quality, efficient patient care. The role will provide senior leadership and clinical experience / expertise and support to the directorates Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Podiatrists and Speech and Language Therapists, and AHP Support Staff; so they remain highly motivated, resilient and well-equipped to provide excellent care.
The role will be responsible for horizon scanning relevant national / local / system policy, legislation, reports etc. relevant to AHP practice to ensure preparedness for and implementation of any required developments / changes; and work with the CHS Head of Nursing, LPT AHP & Quality, Associate Director for AHPs & Quality and AHP leads from Mental Health, LD and children’s directorates on clinical and professional quality and safety improvements.
This role will work as part of the senior clinical team within the CHS directorate to support the wider CHS clinical governance agenda and ensure the AHPs are well represented in and contribute to all aspects of clinical quality and safety within the directorate
The role has responsibility across both the Trust and system ensuring that key external relationships are maintained and developed with other partners in the health and social care community in delivering system-wide objectives as required such as integrated working, discharge pathways and neighbourhood initiatives.

Job Description Summary (Main duties and responsibilities)
* To be a role model across all Allied Health Professionals.
* To provide senior leadership across the Community Health Services directorate for physiotherapists, occupational therapist, podiatrists, speech and language therapists and unregistered support staff.
* To work as part of the senior team contributing to clinical quality, safety and governance across the directorate.
* To play a pivotal role in system wide AHP initiatives relevant to CHS.
* To ensure key relationships with external stakeholders are maintained and developed.
* To lead on the AHP workforce planning and improvement initiatives.
