In this hands-on role, you’ll take ownership of end-to-end payroll processing across weekly and monthly cycles for 700+ employees. What you’ll be doing:
* Managing the full spectrum of payroll activities, from routine tasks to more complex calculations
* Processing starters, leavers, SSP, SMP, holiday pay and carrying out HMRC submissions
* Overseeing overtime, shift allowances and ensuring compliance with NMW and statutory legislation
* Administering pension auto-enrolment and ensuring all processes meet current legislation
* Handling payroll queries related to NI, tax and auto-enrolment
* Extracting and validating T&A data to ensure accuracy before upload
* Completing P11Ds, pension reporting and supporting year-end payroll audits
* Contributing to continuous improvement by reviewing and enhancing payroll processes
* Setting up new payrolls where required
What we’re looking for:
* Proven technical payroll experience, including RTI, SSP, SMP and Auto Enrolment
* Strong IT skills with the ability to learn new systems quickly (experience with iTrent is an advantage)
* High attention to detail and accuracy when processing weekly and monthly payrolls
* A methodical approach, able to work to strict deadlines and support ongoing process improvement
