Graduate Fire Engineer – Edinburgh
Sweco is a leading design, engineering, environment, and regulatory consultancy. We’re recruiting for our Early Careers Graduate Scheme cohort 2026.
What does the role involve?
Working across high‑rise offices, luxury hotels, and complex industrial schemes you will provide strategic fire safety advice across the UK. The role covers concept design to construction, collaborating with clients and external stakeholders, delivering presentations, and supporting design team meetings.
Day‑to‑day activities
* Attending internal and external design team meetings.
* Reviewing and marking up design proposals.
* Liaising with Mechanical, Electrical, Public Health Engineers, architects and clients.
* Supporting the design team to overcome fire safety challenges.
* Producing technical reports to support design approvals.
* Undertaking detailed fire engineering analysis, including CFD and evacuation modelling.
* Liaising with approving authorities.
What do you need to apply?
* Relevant degree.
* Less than 12 months relevant work experience (excluding placements).
* Proficient in Microsoft Office.
* Driven, proactive, solution‑oriented.
* UK work eligibility without restrictions.
