We have an exciting opportunity to join our Engineering team as a Multi‑Skilled Engineer at our Nicholas & Harris site, part of Finsbury Food Group. Overview
The Multi‑Skilled Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of our manufacturing operation. Living by the Finsbury Food Group values of Teamwork, Ownership, Communication, Honesty, and Respect, you'll work as part of a skilled Engineering team to maximise equipment availability, minimise downtime and support the delivery of safe, high‑quality products to our customers.
Responsibilities
As a Multi‑Skilled Engineer, you'll be responsible for maintaining a wide range of production equipment and site services, ensuring the bakery continues to operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. You will:
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), respond to breakdowns, complete corrective maintenance activities, and support installation and improvement projects across the site.
* Diagnose faults, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions to minimise disruption to production.
* Use your technical expertise and problem‑solving skills to quickly respond to issues while contributing to longer‑term continuous improvement initiatives.
* Record maintenance activities through our Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS), ensuring work orders, materials and labour are captured correctly.
* Support the development of maintenance standards, equipment performance monitoring and engineering best practice across the site.
* Work closely with Operations and Technical teams to drive a proactive maintenance culture and support the site's growth plans.

* Health & Safety compliance.
* Continuous improvement contribution.
* Effective root cause analysis and problem resolution.
Ideal Candidate
* Qualified Multi‑Skilled Engineer with recognised engineering qualifications.
* Experience within a manufacturing environment (food manufacturing desirable).
* Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills across electrical and mechanical systems.
* Excellent communication and teamworking skills.
* Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
* Self‑motivated with a proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards.
* IT literate with experience using maintenance management systems.
* IPAF qualification and/or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification desirable but not essential.
