Job Title: Formulation Chemist
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled formulation chemist to develop chemical formulas for urethanes, epoxies, silicones, coatings, and more. This role involves ensuring product quality through rigorous application testing and quality control processes.
Responsibilities
* Develop chemical formulas for urethanes, epoxies, silicones, and coatings.
* Perform all application testing and quality control tests to ensure products meet customer specifications.
* Operate application testing equipment such as universal testers, dispersers, viscometers, and durometers.
* Collaborate with the production team to scale up the production of new or specific formulas.
* Assist Technical Support groups with resolving customer issues.
* Complete technical data sheets to document formulas, production processes, and quality control checks.
* Manage multiple projects weekly, including formula development and application testing.
Essential Skills
* Experience in formulation chemistry, particularly with urethanes, epoxies, or silicones.
* Experience in chemistry formulation to develop specific formulas for customer applications.
* Ability to scale up production processes and establish quality control parameters.
* Troubleshooting skills to address technical issues in manufacturing processes.
* Practical application testing skills to evaluate material performance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
* Knowledge of polyurethanes and foam technology.
* Proficiency in coatings chemistry and physical chemistry blending.
* Experience in product development.
Work Environment
The role involves working in a chemistry lab developing formulas and using various instruments. It also includes office work related to administrative tasks for each project. The position operates on the first shift, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30/4:30 p.m., and involves interaction with all levels of the organization.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
