About the Role

The Management Accountant reports to the Finance Manager and supports the London-based accounting team headed by the Financial Controller. Its tactical responsibilities feed one larger objective: responsibility for the provision of finance and administration support to the London and Jersey Law Firms. Primary responsibilities include:

* Month-end reporting - Preparation of Management Accounts including posting of journals, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets etc.
* Balance Sheet reconciliations
* Overseeing supplier invoice process - coding/approvals
* VAT/GST return preparation
* ONS returns preparation
* Year end audit - support to provide core data, and pull together samples for auditors
* Corporation tax - assist in pulling together supporting analysis
* PSA preparation
* Client Account responsibilities in line with Solicitor Accounts Rules (SAR)
* Provide cover for billing during busy periods/annual leave
* Assist Junior Accounts Assistant as required with their work and in dealing with queries
EXPERIENCE

What You Bring

In addition to indisputably high ethical standards and autonomy, the ideal candidate possesses the following:
* We are seeking a part qualified accountant or newly qualified accountant who is working towards/holds one of the following designations (CPA, ACA, ACMA, CIMA or ACCA)
* Previous experience in preparing Management Accounts is essential, including prepayments and accruals
* Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship management skills are necessary, as is the ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
* Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required
* Good team working skills and experience in assisting team members is desirable
* Understanding of Solicitor Accounts Rules is desirable
