Our client an engineering company is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter Assembler. Please note this role involves international travel.
Job title: Mechanical Fitter
Location: Rochester – with UK and international travel
Hours: 39 hours per week, 45 minute break
Monday to Thursday 8am to 5pm
Friday 8am to 2pm
Benefits: Annual leave – 20 days in year one, rising to 25 days pa in year 2, overtime and travel payments, contributory pension, uniform, free parking
Candidates must be free to travel to all countries without restrictions, UK car driver essential.
When workshop based the role is working as part of a small team building new machinery.
Skills required:
* Mechanical assembly – excellent attention to detail
* Read technical drawings
* Manual milling/turning – able to manufacture simple jigs
The role will involve assisting in assembling, servicing, dismantling, moving machinery – UK and abroad (Europe, Philippines, Malaysia, India etc).
Usual travel is for no more than 7 days at a time when working abroad, 2-3 days when in the UK.
The role is available as the current employee will be retiring within the next 2 years.
