Summary of Duties:The role requires keeping equipment and machinery in optimum operational condition. This includes heavy mobile plant; excavators, wheel loaders, balers and other relevant equipment used within the metal recycling industry.Key Responsibilities:The diagnosis and resolution of breakdown problemsTo respond rapidly to breakdowns thereby minimising the period of time any equipment is out of actionTo ensure all machinery is maintained to a high standard and capable of operating in line with Company standardsTo comply with all machine operating systemsTo keep accurate records of all machinery on siteTo complete and maintain all documentation on the CMMSTo make written and/or verbal reports to line managers as requiredTo attend progress meetings with line managers as and when requiredTo carry out any additional duties that may be reasonably requested from time to timeTo comply with Company policies and procedures as defined in the Employee Manual and the post holders terms & particulars of employmentKey Competencies:The ability to work as part of a teamThe ability to work on own initiativeExcellent time management and organisational skillsExcellent time keeping and attendanceA flexible approach including the willingness to work outside normal hours as and when required, including weekend work and on-call rotaThe ability to manage tasks and meet deadlinesAn analytical, problem solving approachExcellent communication skills with the team and all levelsEssential skills:Proven track record of working in a comparable roleThe ability to strip down and rebuild hydraulic, mechanical components on heavy machinesAble to understand technical drawings relating to machineryA working knowledge of diesel engine maintenanceIT Literate with the ability to use a range of packages applicable to the roleDriving licenseDesirable SkillsHNC qualifications in a relevant subject areaCapable of the diagnosis of component level hydraulic faultsAbility to operate basic machine shop machinery; lathes, milling machines etc.Working knowledge of 3-phase electricsCompetent in lifting and slinging (as training will be provided)ONC level qualifications or equivalentNVQ Level 3 or above in a relevant subjectThe ability to work in a clean room environmentRelative experience in metal recycling and other associated processesTPBN1_UKTJ
