This role takes an office first hybrid approach here at London Gatwick, with three days a week in the office, two days remote, managed around the needs of the business.
What is the role?
The role provides essential support to the account managers in delivering successful retail partnerships at the airport. Assist with day-to-day activities across the contract lifecycle, ensuring smooth and positive relationships with retailers and brands.
What will you do?
* Assist in maintaining relationships with existing brands and operators.
* Support the preparation of tender documents and proposals.
* Help monitor contract performance and report on key metrics.
* Contribute to category reviews by gathering data and preparing summaries.
* Supports achievement of income targets and KPIs by assisting with account management tasks.
* Responsible for small accounts and delivers income targets and other GAL KPIs (e.g. health and safety) via contract management and negotiation for accounts. Contracts executed in a timely fashion with demonstrable upside via business plan, market and/or benchmarking.
* Helps prepare budgets and financial reports
* Assists in drafting and organising tender documentation and coordinating with internal teams.
* Provides input into business planning by collecting data and preparing analysis.
* Prepares standard reports and presentations using approved templates.
* Works closely with retail operations to support delivery of sales and performance targets.
* Acts as a point of contact for routine queries and escalates issues to senior managers.
Do you have what we're looking for?
* Educated to degree level or equivalent
* Confident user of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
* Demonstratable experience in working with and improving commercial contracts
* Good relationship and account management experience and understanding
* Some business development skills – proven ability to develop relationships and ‘sell' opportunities
* Some negotiation skills – some experience of successfully negotiating commercial contracts with third parties
* Proven business acumen - highly numerate – proven track record in financial analysis and appraisal of deals
* Good understanding of mathematical and financial reports
* Good oral and written communication skills
* Experience of working in an Airport or similar environment
* Self starter – highly driven and able to prioritise time to align with business goals
* Could be beneficial but not essential:
* Some legal training
* Formal negotiating training
* Finance or business degree
