Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior sous chef to lead our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional food experiences. This role offers an opportunity to oversee food production with in a very small team and uphold the highest standards of food safety and quality within a vibrant hospitality environment.
This job role is very much hands on and will be working along side the head chef and will be responsible for running the kitchen of a 50 seater restaurant on their own while covering the head chefs days off, the right applicant must have a passion for local food and be have a international approach to food creation, we are also looking for someone who has experience in catering large weddings and is comfortable in private dining.
We are looking to invest in the right candidate and offer a progression package as the estate grows over the next few years.
Duties
* Supervise daily and be able to work on there own form time to time food preparation and cooking activities to ensure consistency and quality.
* Lead and manage a team of kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and support to foster a collaborative working environment.
* Oversee food safety protocols, ensuring compliance with health regulations and company policies.
* Coordinate food production schedules to meet service demands efficiently.
* Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating innovative culinary techniques.
* Monitor stock levels, place orders, and manage inventory to minimise waste and maximise efficiency.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in accordance with health standards.
* Support the training of new staff members, sharing expertise in food preparation, cooking, and hospitality standards.
* Ensure excellent customer service by maintaining high standards in food presentation and service delivery.
* be familiar with using seasonal and foraged produce from our waled garden and the estate.
Qualifications
* Proven supervising experience within a food production or hospitality setting.
* Extensive background in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
* Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene management.
* Experience working in restaurants or similar hospitality environments is highly desirable.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure.
* Good communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and management.
* Previous experience in culinary roles such as chef or cook is essential for seniority candidates demonstrating leadership potential. Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
