Our dedicated Psychological Well-being Practitioners offer a range of psychological therapies and services to treat and support people in their recovery. We have exciting opportunities for Qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWP), to support ongoing delivery and developments of our step two services.
We plan to maintain a mixed model ofremote and in person working depending on the needs of our patients and thewell-being of our staff.
Main duties of the job
Thepost-holder will work within the NHS Talking Therapies service providing high volume lowintensity interventions including Guided self-help based on cognitivebehavioural therapy (CBT) self-management interventions to clients with mild tomoderate anxiety and depression.
Thepost holder will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages,using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equalopportunities
Thepost holder may be expected to work out of hours when necessary to meet theservice needs.

Whilst collaborating with local partners, we have well-established integrated pathways for people with Long Term Physical Health Conditions and sleep difficulties. JobPurpose

MainDuties and Responsibilities
1. CLINICAL
Accept referrals via agreed protocolswithin the service and develop programmes of care packages.
Assess and support people with a common mental health problem in the self-managementof their recovery.
Undertake a patient-centred interviewwhich identifies areas where the person wishes to see change and or recoveryand makes an accurate assessment of risk to self and others.
Make decisions on suitability of newreferrals, adhering to the departments referral protocols, refers unsuitableclients on to the relevant service or back to the referral agent as necessaryor steps-up the persons treatment to high intensity psychological therapy.
Provide a range of information andsupport for evidence based high-volume low-intensity psychological treatments.This may include guided self-help, computerised CBT, information aboutpharmacological treatments. This work may be face to face, telephone or viaother media.
Educate and involve family members andothers in treatment as necessary.
Adhere to an agreed activity contractrelating to the overall number of client contacts offered, and clinicalsessions carried out per week in order to minimise waiting times and ensuretreatment delivery remains accessible and convenient.
Attend multi-disciplinary meetingsrelating to referrals or clients in treatment, where appropriate.
Complete all requirements relating todata collection within the service.
Keep coherent records of all clinicalactivity in line with service protocols and use these records and clinicaloutcome data in clinical decision making.
Work closely with other members of theteam ensuring appropriate step-up and step-down arrangements are in place tomaintain a stepped care approach.
Assess and integrate issuessurrounding work and employment into the overall therapy process.
Operate at all times from an inclusivevalues base which promotes recovery and recognises and respects diversity.
Prepare and present clinicalinformation for all patients on their caseload to clinical case managementsupervisors within the service on an agreed and scheduled basis, in order toensure safe practice and the clinical governance obligations of the worker,supervisor and service are delivered.
Respond to and implement supervisionsuggestions by supervisors in clinical practice.
Engage in and respond to personaldevelopment supervision to improve competences and clinical practice.
2. PROFESSIONAL
Ensure the maintenance of standards ofpractice according to the employer and any regulating, and keep up to date onnew recommendations/guidelines set by the department of health ( NHS plan,National Service Framework, National Institute for Clinical Excellence).
Ensure that client confidentiality isprotected at all times.
Be aware of, and keep up to date withadvances in the spheres of treatment for common mental health problems.
Ensure clear objectives areidentified, discussed and reviewed with senior therapists on a regular basis aspart of continuing professional development.
Participate in individual performancereview and respond to agreed objectives.
Keep up to date all records inrelation to Continuing Professional Development and ensure personal developmentplan maintains up to date specialist knowledge of latest theoretical andservice delivery models/developments.
Attend relevant conferences / workshops inline with identified professional objectives.
3. GENERAL
To contributeto the development of best practice within the service.
To maintainup-to-date knowledge of legislation, national and local policies and proceduresin relation to Mental Health and Primary Care Services.
