Position Overview
Permanent contract. Grade F (£33,699 – £36,363 per annum).
Working 37 hours a week with optional overtime available as needed. Shift rota and working times can be negotiated at interview; current patterns are Monday – Friday.

About the Role
Join Plymouth City Council’s Fleet Services Department as an experienced Vehicle Technician – HGV/LGV mechanical fitter – in the workshop at the Prince Rock Depot. Your main duties will include inspecting, servicing and maintaining a wide range of heavy commercial and LGV vehicles to ensure roadworthiness, health and safety and legislative compliance.
Key Responsibilities
* Inspect, service and maintain heavy commercial and LGV vehicles.
* Ensure highest standards of roadworthiness and comply with health, safety and legislative requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
* NVQ Level 2 or equivalent experience (additional training available on specific vehicle types).
* Essential Category C licence.
* Experience with electrical repairs and welding is desirable.
