We are currently recruiting an experienced Design Manager to lead our design teams across multiple projects. Candidates should demonstrate extensive experience in the management of construction projects including design backed by an impressive portfolio while having a 3rd level qualification in a building/Construction or Architectural related subject. Excellent working knowledge of both 2D and 3D design and a track record of effective team management. This role will involve travel to site as project needs dictate. Main duties: Lead and manage teams of Design Co-ordinators, Technicians and other design professionals, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment and providing guidance and mentorship to reporting team members. Collaborate with Mivan operational teams and external stakeholders. Ensure designs are buildable, repeatable, and efficient. Drive early engagement between Design and Manufacturing teams to ensure Manufacturing feedback is embedded into design reviews enhancing flow of information and output through Design and Manufacturing. Review and evaluate all design information provided by the Client’s designers and architects and program design work accordingly. Work closely with the project management team to develop and manage the design budget for each project and ensure proposed design is within budget allowables. Ensure that all variations that occur during the design process are properly documented, approved and incorporated into the project as appropriate. Take a proactive role in developing the Company’ 3D and digital capabilities through the use of Inventor, Revit, BIM and other technological advancements. Foster effective communication between the design, production, commercial and project teams.
