Job Title: Project Engineer
Our client, a leading local engineering company, is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join their team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for career progression and professional development.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with the Engineering Team to develop project plans and budgets, ensuring milestones are achieved.
2. Source suppliers based on the bill of materials and engineering specifications, liaising with design engineers for alternatives or variations when necessary.
3. Purchase equipment in compliance with budget and company procedures.
4. Distribute documentation and drawings to subcontractors, ensuring correct revisions for fabrication or assembly.
5. Conduct regular visits to subcontractors’ premises to coordinate and review production processes.
6. Work with the design team to meet specifications and perform quality checks prior to handover.
7. Ensure FAT tests and quality checks are performed, documented, and snags are cleared before products leave for site.
8. Coordinate site preparation activities, including surveys, haulage, safety documentation, lifting equipment, labor, commissioning, testing, and client handover.
9. Prepare, schedule, coordinate, and monitor projects, following the document control process.
10. Communicate effectively with clients and project participants to understand their needs and present solutions.
11. Manage contracts, including producing and responding to compensation events, early warning notices, and quotes.
Candidate Requirements:
* Engineering qualification with previous experience in a related discipline.
* Proficiency in SolidWorks / AutoCAD and project experience.
* Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
* Availability to travel across the UK.
