Consents Manager
£55,000 - £60,000 plus car/allowance
Are you a Chartered Surveyor looking for something a little different?
If so, perhaps our role for a Consents Manager will be of interest. We have brand new addition through growth, where you will be putting your expertise to great use, by being responsible for managing all aspects of consents and permissions required for Energy projects. This role will specifically focus on Development Consent Orders (DCOs) and Consents Management.
Here are some of the tasks you’ll get involved in…
* Lead on securing land and property consents, including wayleaves, easements, leases, access rights, planning permissions, and land purchases.
* Support a range of infrastructure works covering underground, overhead, and ground-based installations across private and public land.
* Engage with key stakeholders, from landowners and agents to local authorities and external contractors.
* Ensure compliance with relevant legislation such as the Electricity Act 1989, planning rules, and land rights regulations.
* Manage claims and negotiations, including compensation for access, land use, and statutory notices.
* Oversee contractors and consultants who support the delivery of consents and land rights services.
* Keep accurate records and reports to support project progress and audit requirements.
* Work closely with project teams, including engineers, planners, legal advisors, and environmental consultants.
* Help improve internal processes, identifying opportunities to streamline and enhance how we manage consents.
What you will need
* Ideally you will be a qualified chartered surveyor, or qualified through proven and extensive experience of securing land rights such as easements, access permissions nd managing consents for infrastructure projects
* Utilities or Infrastructure sector experience is essential and ideally within the energy sector.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills as you will be liaising with landowners, agents, councils, and contractors.
* A sound working knowledge of UK land and planning laws, including the Electricity Act and other relevant regulations.
* Excellent organisation skills and computer literacy are a pre requisite.
* A full UK driving licence is essential for site visits and stakeholder meetings.
