Hays Education are working with a well established education provider who are currently recruiting for a number of qualified TAs and HLTAs across their schools & SEND provisions in Preston. Their schools cater to children with additional needs, including SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs. They have a mix of all-girls and all-boys schools and range across KS3 & KS4. These roles are to start ASAP and have the potential to go permanent for the right candidate.
Your new role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant (TA) or Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for one of their provisions in Preston. You will be working with a small group of students who have SEMH needs and have been out of education for a while. Your primary role will be to re-engage these students with education and support their learning journey.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide support to students with SEMH needs.
2. Assist in re-engaging students with education.
3. Work closely with students living in care homes and those living with parents.
4. Collaborate with other staff members to create a supportive learning environment.
5. Adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs of students.
What you'll need to succeed
6. Previous experience working with children with SEMH needs.
7. Experience in a similar role as a TA or HLTA.
8. Ability tomute & work in a rural location.
9. Strongmunication and interpersonal skills.
10. Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students succeed.
