At Argos, we’re a digital‑led UK retailer that keeps pushing boundaries to meet every generation with what they want, how and when they want it. As a market leader in general merchandise, serving millions of customers through our website, app, same‑day delivery and Click & Collect services, we offer real opportunities to learn, grow and shape your career. With roles spanning Commercial, Buying, Merchandising, Design and Supply Chain, through to Digital, Operations, Customer Experience, Marketing, and People and Transformation, you will work with brilliant colleagues and directly shape how we serve our customers every day. From enabling inspiring choice across our owned brands, including Habitat, Chad Valley and Bush, alongside the world’s biggest brands like Apple, Lego, Xbox and Samsung, to making shopping effortlessly convenient, championing trusted value and accelerating our strategy – Argos is an exciting place to build your future.
At Sainsbury’s, digital is at the centre of how we serve customers whenever, wherever and however they choose to shop. Within Digital Commerce for General Merchandise, we work as one connected team across our brands and channels to create brilliant online experiences that deliver for customers and the business. This role sits in a fast‑paced area at the heart of major customer moments, where digital events and campaigns play a key role in driving engagement, sales and profit across Argos and Habitat digital channels.
More About The Role
As Digital Event Trading Lead, you’ll own the planning and execution of key customer events and campaign activity across the year. Working closely with Trade Planning, Commercial, Marketing and wider Ecommerce teams, you’ll make sure events are well planned, clearly briefed and effectively activated across relevant digital touchpoints, including landing pages, homepage features and other onsite content. You’ll help bring together the right products, promotions and messaging to maximise the customer experience and trading impact during key seasonal and campaign moments.
This is a highly collaborative and reactive role in a fast‑moving environment. You’ll monitor performance, respond to customer and commercial signals, and adapt plans where needed to improve outcomes. You’ll also lead post‑event reviews, share performance insights with stakeholders, keep a close eye on competitor execution, and drive testing and optimisation so we continuously improve how we deliver digital events.
More About You
You’ll bring experience from a digital, ecommerce or online trading environment, ideally within a large‑scale retail business, and be confident managing plans that involve multiple teams, deadlines and dependencies. You know how to turn a trading or campaign brief into a clear delivery plan, and you’re comfortable working across functions to bring people with you and keep momentum high.
You’ll also be highly organised, commercially aware and confident using performance data to inform decisions. You can prioritise effectively in a fast‑paced environment, adapt when circumstances change, and balance attention to detail with a strong understanding of the bigger picture. Just as importantly, you’ll enjoy working collaboratively, challenging constructively and looking for ways to improve how we do things.
Essential Criteria
* Experience working in a digital, ecommerce or online trading role where you have planned, coordinated or delivered campaigns, events or customer activity.
* Evidence of working cross‑functionally with teams such as commercial, marketing, operations, analytics, design or ecommerce to deliver activity to deadline.
* Ability to use trading, customer or digital performance data to evaluate results, identify issues or opportunities, and make informed changes to plans.
* Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment, including responding to changing circumstances while maintaining delivery quality.
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to brief clearly, build alignment and keep others informed on progress and performance.
* Experience using digital analytics tools (including Adobe Analytics) to interpret performance data and inform decision‑making.
We are committed to being a truly inclusive retailer so you’ll be welcomed whoever you are and wherever you work. Around here, there’s always the chance to try something new – whether that’s as part of an evolving team or somewhere else across the business – and we take development seriously and promise to support you. We also recognise and celebrate colleagues when they go the extra mile and, where possible, offer flexible working.
