Overview
Water Quality Technician - Southern Water, Kent. This full-time, permanent role involves sampling water, wastewater and sludge at a variety of sites and customer locations in accordance with Drinking Water Inspectorate and Environment Agency regulations. The role supports 24/7 incident response and contributes to company targets related to compliance and service quality. There are three positions available and the role includes participation in a 24/7 standby rota, approximately once every five weeks.

Key Responsibilities
* Undertake water, wastewater and sludge sampling in accordance with the sampling schedule and with great care and attention to detail; work independently to follow procedures.
* Undertake customer sampling and complaint handling.
* Carry out on-site analytical testing and associated quality checking to ISO17025, DWTS and MCERTS standards.
* Undertake emergency sampling during incidents and advise on water and wastewater quality issues.
* Register samples onto laboratory data systems and manage associated administration.
* Report safety hazards and manage scientific equipment maintenance and fault diagnosis.
* Assess operational sites for general condition of operation, defects and issues; consider security and health & safety implications.
* Full driving license required.

Requirements
* Must have a UK full driving licence
* Experience in sampling and testing within regulatory standards is desirable
