Salford City Council’s Children's Residential Service are looking for a passionate and dedicated Deputy Manager to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in one of our OFSTED rated Good and Outstanding children' s homes, providing a nurturing and supportive environment for Salford’s children. If you’re driven by the desire to make a difference in the lives of young people and have a background in therapeutic care, we want to hear from you!

Your Mission:

As the Deputy Manager, you will:

Support and Lead: Assist the homes Registered Manager in the daily operations and management of the new home, ensuring high standards of care and support.

Therapeutic Care: Implement and promote therapeutic approaches to childcare, creating a nurturing environment for young people.

Staff Supervision: Oversee and mentor a dedicated team, creating a positive and professional culture within the home.

Compliance and Quality: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines, striving for excellence in every aspect of care.

Who We’re Looking For:

Experienced Professional: You have previous experience working within children’s homes, with a solid understanding of residential childcare.

Therapeutic Enthusiast: A passion for therapeutic approaches in childcare, with the ability to implement these strategies effectively.

Qualified Candidate: A Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare is highly desirable. You will be required to undertake the Level 5 in Leadership & Management in Residential Childcare on successful completion of your probation period.

Please be aware that this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and that you will be required to meet the cost of the DBS check currently £49.50. The payment for this will be deducted from your first four months’ salary payments at a rate of £12.38 per month. If you do not commence employment for any reason but the DBS has been processed, you will be sent an invoice for the payment of £49.50.
