We are seeking a Quality Engineer (CNC/Manual Machining) to join our federal team at our York, PA location. This position will provide day‑to‑day quality engineering support within the Grantley Plant facility, with a primary focus on machining and compressor assembly operations. The incumbent will play an integral role in improving first‑pass yields, increasing product flow and throughput, and ensuring on‑time delivery performance while exceeding customer expectations.

Responsibilities
* Provide technical support to the Grantley Plant.
* Lead and participate in continuous improvement teams to reduce cost of poor quality (COPQ), improve first‑pass yields, and enhance product flow and throughput.
* Support COPQ metrics and analysis for CI teams; generate reporting metrics for scrap, rework, and first‑pass yield.
* Manage and dispose of non‑conforming material.
* Facilitate and lead the Material Review Board.
* Conduct measurement systems analysis and process capability studies as required.
* Work with customer service to address product issues, warranties, or other problems.
* Assist in the development and revision of procedures and standard work to support the plant operation quality system.
* Develop inspection plans to verify manufactured and purchased components.
* Perform first‑article dimensional reviews for both internal and externally manufactured parts.
* Review and approve design, manufacturing, and inspection test results for compliance with requirements.
* Participate in ECN process and product team meetings to resolve quality issues.
* Conduct internal quality system process audits.
* Assist with supplier audits, qualification, and launch of new products through the APQP process and requirements.
* Interface with key suppliers as required, ensuring timely resolution of quality issues.
* Participate in warranty reduction teams.
* Conduct quality system training as required.
* Maintain a working knowledge of government and industry codes and standards.
* Adhere to the company’s code of conduct and business ethics standards.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering, or Journeyman Machinist with 2‑5+ years of manufacturing experience in heavy industrial, automotive, or aerospace sectors, including metal machining, welding, and fabrication.
* QMS knowledge and experience with ISO 9000, TS 16949, or AS 9100.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Minitab, or other quality data analysis tools.
* Demonstrated problem‑solving, process capability, data analysis, measurement systems analysis, GD&T, and blueprint reading skills.
* Strong planning, organizational, and proven leadership/team‑building skills.
* Demonstrated ability to organize, facilitate, and lead product quality, process, and system improvement teams.
Preferred Qualifications
* Formal Lean and/or Six‑Sigma training with demonstrated accomplishments.
* Experience in CNC machining (CNC/Manual).
