We are looking to hire an Azure Platform Engineer who will work closely with the Director of Technology to help design, build, maintain, and monitor our technology platform on Microsoft Azure. The projects that 4R Digital is working on provide a chance to design highly innovative solutions, push the boundaries of what we can do with digital finance, and at the same time result in a significant positive socio-economic impact.

About the role
4R Digital is keen to appoint an experienced Platform Engineer to help with the delivery of solutions built upon the Microsoft Azure platform. You will be very hands-on, reporting directly to the Technology Head and working with the development team to ensure that the platform is fit for purpose scalable, secure, reliable, and in the Azure Well-Architected Framework guidelines. You will also be responsible for creating and maintaining the infrastructure that supports the platform, ensuring that it is secure, scalable, and fit for purpose using an infrastructure-as-code approach. You will also support the Dev team with the Automation of the development process using Azure DevOps.
Ideal candidates will be experienced in building applications on the Azure platform using Kubernetes along with a mixture of other Azure services such as IoT Hub or Event Hub. You will build and maintain automated deployments using infrastructure as code and approach and will work closely with software development teams, supporting the business in providing (ballpark) estimates for infrastructure work.
This role is remote at present with occasional meet-ups, in Reading or South England locations.
Key responsibilities
* Working closely with the Director of Technology to design, develop, and maintain the Azure platform, aligning with the product roadmap.
* Ensuring that the platform is scalable, secure, and reliable, secure, monitoring is in place and the Azure Well-Architected framework guidelines are taken into account.
* Creating and maintaining the infrastructure that supports the platform.
* Collaborating with development teams to ensure that the platform meets their needs.
* Ensuring that the platform meets regulatory compliance requirements.
* Monitoring and troubleshooting issues with the platform.
* Collaborating with the dev team to ensure that the application is suitably observable.
Role requirements
* Strong experience with Microsoft Azure, Docker/Kubernetes, IOT, and infrastructure as code approaches such as Bicep, Kustomize, and Powershell.
* Experience with Azure SQL and Cosmos DB
* Experience in working as part of an Agile scrum team.
* Experience with Microsoft DevOps and Git.
* Useful but not essential: Experience with c# and .Net.

Salary & Benefits
£60,000 - £70,000 gross per annum
Pension scheme (employer matched contribution up to 5%)
25 days holiday per year plus bank holidays
Optional private medical scheme
Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 17:00 as the core business hours.
