Recovery Coordinator- Newcastle Treatment and Recovery Service
Location: Plummer Court, Newcastle, NE1 6UR
Working Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday Friday, 0 9:00-17:00 (with one 30 min early finish during week)
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: £25,877.80 - £34,240
Please note: The salary listed reflects the full earning potential for this role. Starting salaries depend on experience and progression within the band.

About the Role
As a Recovery Coordinator, you will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team, delivering high-quality, person-centred care for individuals affected by drug and alcohol misuse. You will support individuals throughout every stage of their recovery journey, from initial triage and assessment through to structured treatment and sustained recovery.

Working collaboratively, you will develop and implement tailored recovery plans that are strengths-based, promote wellbeing, and reduce harm. You will facilitate access to a wide range of interventions, including psychosocial support and community resources, helping individuals build recovery capital and achieve positive, lasting outcomes for themselves, their families, and the wider community.

You will take ownership of a defined caseload, ensuring effective case management, continuous engagement, and coordinated care across partner agencies, always striving to improve outcomes and promote independence.
About You
You are a compassionate, organised, and proactive professional with experience supporting individuals affected by substance misuse in a health, social care, or community setting. You are confident in carrying out comprehensive assessments, developing recovery and risk management plans, and delivering evidence-based interventions tailored to individual needs.

You excel at building positive, trusting relationships and are committed to empowering individuals throughout their recovery journey. With a strong understanding of safeguarding, harm reduction, and multi-agency working, you are able to manage a varied caseload while maintaining accurate and timely records.

Above all, you are driven by a commitment to person-centred care that promotes long-term recovery, resilience, and improved wellbeing.
What Youll Do
Work collaboratively with partner agencies and multidisciplinary teams to complete assessments, deliver key working sessions, and provide interventions that support progression from engagement through structured treatment to sustained recovery.
Manage a defined caseload, developing, implementing, and regularly reviewing personalised recovery and risk management plans in partnership with individuals, colleagues, families, and significant others where appropriate.
Facilitate access to appropriate treatment pathways, psychosocial interventions, community resources, and peer support, promoting social inclusion, harm reduction, and sustained recovery.
Deliver evidence-based one-to-one and group interventions, ensuring interventions are responsive to individual needs and aligned with best practice.
Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and contribute to case reviews, team meetings, and multi-agency discussions.
Work in line with safeguarding procedures, clinical governance standards, and organisational policies at all times.

To Succeed in This Role, Youll Need
Knowledge of harm reduction approaches in relation to substance misuse and recovery-oriented models of care (practical experience is desirable).
Understanding of, and ability to deliver, evidence-based interventions such as: Brief Interventions, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Psychosocial Interventions (PSIs), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), ITEP (Intensive Treatment Effectiveness Programme)
Experience in assessment, recovery planning, and developing effective risk management and safeguarding plans.
Ability to manage a diverse caseload, prioritise workload, and work both independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate individuals from a range of backgrounds.
