Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for an innovative individual to join our team as a substantive Consultant in Obstetrics in NHS Tayside. A special interest in maternal or fetal medicine is highly desirable. This 10 programmed activities (PA) per week post supports Women’s Health Services across NHS Tayside. The post is based at Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, with activity across Perth Royal Infirmary and Arbroath Hospital. The successful candidate will provide obstetrics support across NHS Tayside and may develop Special Interests that complement the service in Tayside. The post holder will provide antenatal clinics, ward rounds and planned caesarean theatre lists.
There is a requirement to provide out-of-hours cover for unscheduled care in obstetrics, including non-resident on-call commitments for obstetrics and gynaecology in Ninewells Hospital with prospective and weekend cover.
Responsibilities
* Provide obstetrics services across NHS Tayside, including antenatal clinics, ward rounds and planned caesarean theatre lists.
* Provide out-of-hours cover for unscheduled obstetric care (non-resident on-call commitments and weekend cover).
* Work flexibly with the multi-disciplinary team to deliver Women’s Health services across NHS Tayside.
* Develop Special Interests that meet service needs in Tayside.
Qualifications/Experience
* Substantive Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with an interest in maternal or fetal medicine (desirable).
* Experience in supporting women’s health services across site locations and providing clinics, ward rounds and operative lists.
* Flexibility to work across NHS Tayside sites (Ninewells Hospital, Dundee; Perth Royal Infirmary; Arbroath Hospital) as required.
