WHAT WILL THIS ROLE INVOLVE? The role is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and safety across a busy warehouse. Duties include sweeping and mopping floors, removing waste and recyclables, keeping workstations, racking, and shared equipment clean, and ensuring loading bays and external areas are free from debris. The aim is to support a safe, efficient, and well-organised operation. WHAT WILL YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FOR? Use industrial push brooms and dust mops to clear large warehouse zones, ensuring floors are free of dust, grit, and fine debris. Patrol picking aisles and packing stations to collect and dispose of discarded shrink wrap, plastic strapping, and cardboard scraps. Use traditional mop and bucket systems to clean localised spills, boot marks, or muddy tracks in high-traffic pedestrian areas. Hand-wipe and dust lower-level racking beams and storage bins to prevent dirt buildup on stock and inventory. Collect refuse from various points and sort it into the correct recycling skips (e.g., separating wood, plastic, and general waste). Manually load and operate cardboard balers or waste compactors to keep the loading bay and dispatch areas tidy. Clean and disinfect shared manual equipment, such as hand-pump trucks, trolleys, and handheld barcode scanners. Sweep and clear the internal and external dock plates and leveling bays to ensure safe conditions for incoming and outgoing deliveries. Clean yard from debris to ensure the area is kept clean.
