As we continue to scale, we are looking for an Assistant Accountant who wants to grow with us and play a key role in our finance operations. About the Role This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with solid finance administration experience who is ready to step up into management accounts. In this hybrid role, youll take ownership of core transactional duties while gaining exposure to month-end processes, reporting, and IFRS-aligned practices. Key Responsibilities Transactional Finance Process and reconcile sales invoices, purchase invoices, credit notes, and supplier statements Carry out credit control activities, including debt chasing, managing the aged debt report, overseeing sales ledger accuracy, and ensuring timely customer payment allocation Complete VAT returns end-to-end, including preparation, reconciliation, and submission Manage employee expenses Maintain accurate stock records and assist with stock reconciliations Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations Management Accounts Support month-end close including journals, prepayments, and accruals Assist with preparing trial balance, management reports, and variance analysis Ensure compliance with financial policies and deadlines Compliance & Standards Exposure to IFRS advantageous, with opportunities to build understanding Uphold consistent, accurate financial processes across the function Skills & Experience Proficiency in Xero Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas) Strong understanding of VAT and proven experience completing VAT returns independently Excellent accuracy, organisation, and problem-solving skills Exposure to IFRS (advantageous, not essential) Qualifications Bookkeeping qualification, or AAT qualified/part-qualified, or Part-qualified CIMA/ACCA (or equivalent) Benefits 25 days holiday Contributory pension Medical benefit Ride-to-work scheme Season ticket loan Hybrid working (3 days office / 2 days home)
