Job Description:
We are looking for a Legal Cashier to maintain accurate financial records, reconcile client and office accounts, process payments, and ensure compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR). This is a hands-on role requiring attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to handle high-volume transactional finance work within a manufacturing and engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform daily bank reconciliations for client and office accounts
Process supplier invoices and staff expenses in Sage
Reconcile counsel fees and other disbursements
Prepare and issue disbursement and fee invoices
Assist with SRA audits and ensure compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules
Produce financial reports and support ad hoc data analysis
Support the wider Finance and legal teams with administrative and operational tasks
Key Skills:
Accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, general ledger experience
Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail
Knowledge of financial systems such as Sage, Xero, SAP, or similar
Professional and discreet, handling confidential financial information
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent organisational skills, communication, and time management
Desirable:
Previous experience as a Legal Cashier or in a legal finance environment
Knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR)
Experience supporting SRA audits
