The role of this Personal CareAssistant
Our personal care assistantsjoin our client’s support team, providing reliable, essential care and supportin their home.You will be employed byHomeCareDirect on behalf of the client and your focus will be to support themonly. This role is to work Saturday and Sunday, 12hr day shifts.
About the Client and Duties
Our client is a young man inhis 20's with a brain injury and complex care needs. Our client needsstructure, routine and support with everyday tasks to enable him to access thecommunity and social activities.
The ideal support worker forthis package will have a calm, patient and kind nature. You should be anexcellent communicator with good verbal skills as our client does not haveverbal speech and instead communicates through facial expressions, 'Eye Gaze'communication device and body language.
You will need to be a driverwith a full, UK driving licence and will be expected to drive our clientsadapted vehicle to appointments and accompany him to participate in leisureactivities.
Complex care and personal careis required in this role and it is desirable that you have experience of these.
Requirements
Training and Support:
We provide comprehensive, paidtraining to CQC standards covering:
* Full induction
* Safeguarding Adults
* Health & Safety / FirstAid / Food Hygiene
* Moving & Handling withHoist
* Epilepsy / Learning Disability/ Mental Health Awareness
All training must be completedbefore the start date, with training hours paid at minimum wage
Requirements:
* Desirable:Complex care experience
* Driver with a full, clean UKdriving licence
* Commitment to long-term,person-centred care
* You must be reliable,compassionate and committed to respecting confidentiality
