Salary: FTE: Band 5 £29,846 - £32,514 pa, Actual £22,125 - £24,102 pa, inclusive of 5.6 wks holiday. Working Hours: 32.5 hours per week - Term Time Only. Closing Date: 29 September 2025. Starting Date: ASAP.

If you would like to be part of our journey to support students' lives, we are looking for a Specialist Learning Support Assistant to join our Lower School team as part of our provision. You will be working to inspire our students love of learning through a hands on and creative approach to teaching and supporting the learning of the students. You will work across the Lower School model but be based in the Juniors provision. The successful candidate should have experience of working within the KS2 area of the curriculum and an understanding of SEND needs with a focus on social, emotional and mental health. They should also have a flexible approach to delivering support and a passion for helping students to succeed academically.
Responsibilities
* Dividing time between supporting teaching staff and working 1:1 in the classroom or providing intervention.
* Covering teachers' lessons as required.
* Work across the Lower School model with basis in the Juniors provision.
Qualifications
* Minimum: Level 2 English and Maths.
* A Level 3 Teaching and Learning Support qualification, or equivalent, would be advantageous.
* Experience of working within KS2 and an understanding of SEND with a focus on social, emotional and mental health.

Safeguarding and Selection
Working at West Heath School involves close and unsupervised contact with vulnerable groups including children and as such is a regulated activity. The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Applicants must be willing to undergo safeguarding screening appropriate to the post (including an Enhanced DBS check. Management positions will require a 128 Check.)
