Account Director
As an Account Director at a growing creative agency, you’ll be the strategic lead behind bold, culture-shaping campaigns. You won’t just manage projects—you’ll lead and grow the most important accounts across the business, earning the trust of clients through smart thinking, commercial instinct, and a genuine passion for exceptional delivery.
From briefing to launch, you’ll steer multi-disciplinary teams with clarity and confidence, ensuring ideas are not only brilliantly executed but also rooted in real-world impact. Calm under pressure and driven by results, you’re the kind of person who sees both the big picture and the tiny details—and knows how to inspire teams to go above and beyond. This role is for someone who is entrepreneurial and has ambition to shape the next phase of growth in a very ambitious agency.
Account Handling:
* Lead day-to-day client relationships with confidence, clarity, and strategic direction.
* Act as the key point of contact across multiple projects, ensuring creative excellence and timely delivery.
* Impeccable project management, responsible for timely delivery and accuracy of all client-facing documents relative to campaigns/projects – i.e. contact reports, and status reports.
* Working with the team to respond to and drive forward new briefs with the wider team.
* Anticipate client needs, manage expectations, and problem-solve proactively to keep projects moving forward.
* Collaborate closely with creative and strategy teams to deliver campaigns that resonate culturally and cut through.
* Identify and create positive relationships with (relevant) partners for client projects.
* Embrace and collaborate with internal divisions to ensure solid cross-channel execution.
* Ensure all campaign elements are underpinned with robust contractual, legal, and insurance documentation (escalating to the SLT as required).
* Demonstrate knowledge of clients and competitor landscape.
Financial Management:
* Manage campaign/project budgets, with attention to detail adhering to company procedures and negotiating with approved suppliers on the best price for services required.
* Ensure all projects are delivered within commercial targets and be focussed on driving commercial growth of the accounts
* Work with project teams to scope, cost, and resource projects effectively.
* Identify opportunities to grow accounts commercially while maintaining value for our clients.
* Negotiate fees, timelines, and scopes confidently, balancing client goals with agency profitability.
Line Management:
* Mentor and Manage, support, and develop account managers, executives/interns.
* Lead by example through first-class account handling acting as a quality control for all client-facing and supplier communications produced by junior team.
* Demonstrate outstanding role model behaviour.
* Champion processes across the business and ensure compliance with the junior team.
* Actively manage up and down to ensure campaign requirements are delivered on time and within budget.
* Set clear objectives, provide regular feedback, and support career development across your team.
* Lead by example—balancing rigour with creativity and pushing for the highest standards of work.
* Support resourcing decisions and team wellbeing across high-paced, youth-driven projects.
OCD Brand building:
* Participate in marketing and PR initiatives and contribute to the overall culture of the agency.
* Represent the agency at events, pitches, and client meetings with authority and authenticity.
* Drive collaboration and energy across departments, helping to foster a dynamic, inclusive agency culture.
New Biz
* Identify and nurture organic growth opportunities within existing accounts.
* Play a leading role in pitch processes - from brief response through to delivery and follow-up.
* Have an always on attitude when it comes to new biz.
Key Skills/Experience:
What We’re Looking For
* Minimum 6+ years of experience in a creative or integrated agency environment.
* Proven track record delivering content, campaigns, and social-first work with lifestyle, or culture-led brands.
* Strong experience in influencer marketing and creative development, with a solid understanding of how paid media drives performance and KPIs.
* Confident leading end-to-end projects and managing budgets with accuracy and accountability.
* Exceptional communication skills—clear, calm under pressure, and credible in front of clients.
* Commercially astute with a sharp eye for detail and a proactive, solutions-led mindset.
* Highly collaborative and personable—able to bring teams together and keep momentum high.
* Strong written and verbal communication, including confident reporting, presenting, and storytelling.
* Excellent organisational skills, with strong numerical and analytical abilities to back up decisions and reporting.
* Results-driven and energised by fast-paced environments—comfortable holding a room and leading from the front.
* Able to work to tight deadlines while maintaining quality, and skilled at building compelling, visually sharp pitch decks.
* A natural problem-solver with excellent people skills and a level-headed, solutions-focused approach
What You’ll Do
* Lead client relationships - building trust and long-term partnerships
* Understand client needs and proactively bring opportunities to the table
* Run projects end-to-end, managing timelines, budgets, and resources
* Work closely with creatives, producers, and freelancers to deliver high-quality work
* Spot growth opportunities within accounts and confidently build decks, proposals, or responses to unlock them
* Build budgets and commercial models independently, with a clear understanding of scope, margins, and value
