Are you an experienced Maintenance Engineer with a knack for fixing machinery and keeping operations running smoothly? Gooding Group, a leading UK manufacturer of bespoke fitted wardrobes, is looking for a skilled and hands-on Maintenance Engineer to join our small, dedicated production team.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in mechanical and electrical maintenance, preferably within a manufacturing or woodworking environment. While the primary focus will be on maintenance engineering, youll also contribute to supporting the wider production team, including running machines as needed full training will be provided. Forklift driving and occasional yard duties are also part of the role.
Main Responsibilities:
Diagnose and repair mechanical and minor electrical faults on woodworking machinery
Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to minimise downtime and extend equipment life
Maintain accurate maintenance logs and contribute to improving machine reliability
Operate woodworking machinery during production when required (training provided)
Support general yard operations and forklift duties as needed
Essential Skills & Experience:
Strong hands-on experience in machine maintenance and repair
Ability to diagnose and fix mechanical and basic electrical issues
Valid FLT (Forklift Truck) license
Team-oriented with a flexible, can-do attitude
Willingness to support production, including machine operation
Desirable:
Familiarity with CNC machines, especially nesting CNC routers, is a strong plus
Background in woodworking, joinery, or furniture manufacturing is beneficial
