What will you be doing?
You will be responsible for assisting the Head of Operations, Jumbo UK (“HoO - UK”) in delivering high-quality business performance reporting and insights, oversight of financial compliance, financial reporting and in-region finance processes & resources. Financial compliance includes audit, financial statement preparation & income tax compliance, all of which are undertaken in partnership with, & with the support of, Group Finance based at the Head Office in Brisbane, Australia. Reporting to the HoO - UK, the role will work closely with in-region GMs & leaders, Head of Operations, Group Financial Controller and Financial Planning & Analysis Manager (Group), and is uniquely positioned to help modernise finance processes, ensure accurate financial information is being produced, drive business performance, link business & financial plans and assist in development of communications to the market.
Key Responsibilities
* Working closely with HoO - UK, in-region leadership & finance support, this role will assist in providing accurate and timely financial information, insights and projections to UK & Jumbo Group management including:
o EOM reporting - financial & non-financial - including input into business updates & reviews with management - group & in-region
o Quarterly reviews including up-to-date financial forecasts for current FY & future periods
o Annual budgeting & planning
o Annual & Half Year ASX results reporting support including audit & financial statement preparation support
* Coordinating with UK & Group finance teams to produce accurate management reports and Business Information dashboards, assist in the preparation of presentations that provide thoughtful analysis, identify action items, and effectively frame decisions that need to be made
* Provide reliable data and ad-hoc analysis to be used in decision-making, planning and external communication
* Analyse the trends and monitor/ identify the cause of any unexpected variances of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), especially relating to financial metrics such as sales, expenditures, and profit margin
* Identify and research variances to forecast, budget, and prior-year expenses, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement
* Working with operational management teams to collaborate on metrics, goals, and business reviews
* Develop financial models and analysis to support ongoing business performance management & progress on strategic initiatives
We would like you to bring to this role:
* Professional Qualification, CPA, ACCA or equivalent
* Knowledge of accounting/financial/operational reporting principles, including experience of financial audits
* Experience in developing financial and operational reports and metrics
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with various management levels
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a changing, fast-paced environment
* Strong Excel, Word, Power BI and PowerPoint skills
* Attention to detail and ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining a view of the big picture
* Demonstrated ability to influence others through effective verbal and written communication
Salary Banding:
£60,000-75,000 per annum,
