Job Title: Lead Veterinary Surgeon
Location: Village Vets, Potters Bar, Hertfordshire.
Hours: Full time, 42 hours over a 4- day week (8.30-7.30) 1:3 Saturdays (8.30-4) and 1: 12 S un days at the St Albans Hospital (8.30-6.30) .
Salary: Up to £73,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Village Vet Potters Bar are seeking an experienced V eterinary S urgeon and leader!
A fantastic opportunity to develop and lead a small team of 2 Vets, and a team of RVN’s and CCA’s. The position will offer a great GP clinical caseload, with an average of 1 day per week for leadership admin, and monthly meetings with the Clinical Director.

What we are looking for:
* A strong leader who enjoys a challenge and would like to put their mark on a wonderful branch clinic.
* Previous S enior or Lead Vet experience
* Strong routine surgical skills.
* Good understanding of finances, line management and business strategy.
* A GDP advisor or someone who would like to train to become a GDP advisor is desirable.
* Ability to issue animal health certificates is also desirable but not essential.
Key responsibilities :
* Support clinical delivery in the business
* Maintain the highest standards of your own clinical delivery
* Understand and utilise all Associates’ skills to maximise provision of services appropriate to clinical qualifications and roles within the business; collaborate with other teams in the practice to ensure team approach
* Support recruitment, training and mentoring of the entire veterinary team to enable sustained success clinically, financially and operationally and in terms of quality and education
* Identify any performance issues within the clinical delivery and support and understand reasons for this; implement plans to improve with empathy
* Lead the veterinary team alongside the Clinical Director and working with the nursing team to allow effective utilisation of veterinary surgeons and nursing teams
