We are currently recruiting for a permanent Adults AMHP / Best Interest Assessor to join a dedicated team in Oldham. This is an exciting opportunity to manage a complex and rewarding caseload, supporting adults, carers, and families while promoting independence, wellbeing, and positive outcomes. Job Purpose You will be responsible for managing complex cases, undertaking detailed assessments, and developing, implementing, and reviewing Care & Support Plans. You’ll play a key role in improving life opportunities for service users while promoting high standards of social work practice and continuing your own professional development. Key Responsibilities Undertake comprehensive assessments of complex needs for service users, carers, and families Develop, implement, and review Care & Support Plans and packages Support individuals in making informed decisions through Self-Directed Support and Individual Budgets Respond effectively to crisis situations, including use of legal interventions where appropriate Proactively manage safeguarding concerns in line with policies and procedures Identify, assess, and manage risks to promote safer outcomes Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and confidential case records Prepare reports and attend key meetings including court, panels, and case conferences Act as an advocate for service users within professional boundaries Build strong partnerships with health, voluntary, and multi-agency professionals Provide guidance and support to less experienced colleagues Engage in continuous professional development and supervision What We’re Looking For Qualified Social Worker with relevant registration Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) status and/or Best Interest Assessor qualification Experience working with complex adult social care cases Strong knowledge of safeguarding, legislation, and social work practices Excellent communication, decision-making, and organisational skills What’s on Offer Competitive salary of £41,511 – £45,718 Permanent, stable position within a supportive team Opportunities for ongoing training and career development A chance to make a meaningful impact in the community How to Apply Apply today by sending your CV to Nik.froud@servicecare.org.uk Alternatively, call direct at 01772 208964!
