The household comprises one principal and her adult son and operates within a calm, well-organised private environment. The family are seeking a professional, reliable, and discreet Housekeeper who is comfortable working within a structured housekeeping routine and maintaining consistently high standards throughout the home. This is a role best suited to a proactive flexible individual who values long-term employment and can adapt naturally to changing family dynamics.
This live-out Housekeeper position is located in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. Due to the property's location and limited public transport access, a driving licence and own car are essential, as the role includes occasional errands such as shopping, dry cleaning collection, and post office visits. The household benefits from additional support, including a house-sitter and other external assistance, making the Housekeeper part of a well-established household setup. The Housekeeper should be comfortable working in a home with pets, as the family has two Labrador dogs, although no pet care is required.
Working as a Housekeeper in this household offers a varied and trusting role suited to a professional who is proactive, flexible, and comfortable taking initiative. The duties include maintaining high standards of cleanliness, laundry and ironing, basic wardrobe care, and general household organisation. The Housekeeper will occasionally assist with informal table setting and serving when the family entertains, as well as very basic occasional breakfast preparation. The property also includes additional facilities such as a sauna with shower, a gym, and an ice bath located in a separate building, all of which form part of the overall housekeeping responsibilities. Occasional care of silver items and antique furniture is required. The role does not involve liaising with contractors, aside from basic interaction with gardeners. Main duties of the Part-Time Housekeeper:
· General housekeeping to a high private household standard
· Hoovering and cleaning all living areas
· Cleaning bathrooms and maintaining hygiene standards throughout the home
· Making beds and changing bed linen
· Laundry and ironing
· Basic wardrobe management, including folding, sorting, and keeping items organised
· Fridge management and fridge cleaning
· Loading and emptying the dishwasher and washing up as required
· Running errands such as shopping, collecting dry cleaning, and visiting the post office
· Watering plants
· Occasional informal table setting and serving when the family entertains
· Occasional basic cooking
· Occasional silver cleaning and careful dusting of antique furniture
Requirements for this Part-Time Housekeeper:
· Minimum of 5 years of private housekeeping experience
· Two excellent, checkable references
· Conversational level of English
· Legal right to work in the UK
· Driving licence and own car are essential
