Job Description:
Sentinel is working with a leading global IT and technology services company. They drive digital transformation for businesses worldwide, providing solutions across cloud computing, data analytics, and security. We are looking for a skilled GCP Cloud Engineer for a 12-month fixed-term contract within their Marketing Analytics team, focusing on integrating data across digital channels for the European market.
The role involves designing, implementing, and securing GCP infrastructure, ensuring efficient data flow into Looker, leading security audits, and maintaining compliance. The position requires hands-on technical expertise, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to cloud security and governance.
Responsibilities:
* Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure GCP infrastructure (Compute, networking, storage, IAM).
* Implement and manage Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform.
* Ensure operational health, performance, and cost-efficiency of GCP resources.
* Collaborate with data engineers and analysts on infrastructure for data integration.
* Lead security audits, identify vulnerabilities, and ensure security policy adherence.
* Develop GCP security measures (network segmentation, access controls, encryption, GDPR/ISO 27001 compliance).
* Design and implement ETL pipelines for marketing data into BigQuery for Looker.
* Optimize BigQuery data models and schemas for reporting.
* Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for infrastructure and security.
* Contribute to engineering standards and documentation.
* Provide guidance on GCP best practices.
* Troubleshoot infrastructure and security issues.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Extensive GCP Cloud Engineering experience.
* Background in marketing data environments and analytics infrastructure.
* Experience leading security audits and compliance (GDPR, ISO 27001).
* Expertise in Terraform and IaC.
* Strong knowledge of GCP networking, security, and IAM.
* Scripting skills (Python, Bash, Go).
* Containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes/GKE) experience is desirable.
* Monitoring and logging expertise.
* Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
* GCP certifications are highly advantageous.
