We are seeking a part‑time band 5 Child and Family Mental Health Worker. This post is based in Wokingham and the post holder will support the Children and Young Peoples Early Intervention in Psychosis Team.
The team delivers high‑quality mental health assessments, treatment interventions and support to young people experiencing psychotic symptoms or presenting with an At Risk Mental State (ARMS).
Responsibilities
* Provide interventions and support for young people experiencing psychotic symptoms or an ARMS in line with NICE guidance.
* Risk assess complex cases alongside the multidisciplinary team.
* Offer support, advice and psycho‑education to parents or carers of the young people.
* Ensure the young person is heard, validated and their needs are understood.
* Act as a liaison with multi‑agency partners to communicate the young person’s needs and work collaboratively.
* Collaborate closely with the wider Child and Adolescent Mental Health services in Berkshire, local authority, education colleagues and other services/agencies as required.
* Be supported, guided and supervised by senior clinicians in the team.
* Offer intensive outreach support to young people and their families across Berkshire.
Qualifications
* Degree or HNC/HND or equivalent in a relevant subject, with extensive relevant work experience or short courses equivalent to degree level.
* Previous experience working directly with young people, families and multi‑agency settings.
* Personal resilience, excellent listening skills and empathy.
* Transferable skills in supporting individuals with complex mental health needs.
