Job Description
Mr Plant Hire is looking for a skilled and proactive Workshop Fitter to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing a range of plant machinery and equipment, ensuring everything is safe, reliable, and ready for use. As Workshop Fitter you will work with specialist tools and diagnostic equipment to keep our fleet operating at the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Inspect machinery and equipment for defects
* Carry out servicing and planned maintenance
* Perform routine inspections across various types of equipment
* Dismantle, repair, and replace faulty components
* Reassemble and test components to ensure safe operation
* Complete pre-delivery checks on new equipment
* Use diagnostic reports to identify faults
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date service records
* Escalate complex faults to managers as required
* Safely operate a wide range of specialist tools
* Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe workshop environment
* Follow PPE and safety guidance at all times
Qualifications & Experience
* Previous industry experience in a similar role
* Proven experience diagnosing and repairing plant, machinery, or lifting equipment (essential)
* NVQ Level 2 in Plant and Machinery Maintenance (desirable)
* Manufacturer training on relevant industry products
* IPAF categories 3a, 3b, 1b (for powered access equipment)
