Salary: £45,413 to £57,422 per annum pro‑rata, depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a top‑ranking Russell Group University in a forward‑thinking, vibrant team. The role, as Named Training and Competency Officer (NTCO), will lead the delivery of the institutional in‑vivo training and competency framework, actively promote a culture of care and the principles of the ‘3Rs’, and support experimental design and support.
Responsibilities
* Training and competency of technical and experimental teams across diverse sites.
* Leading the institutional in‑vivo training and competency framework.
* Promoting a culture of care and the 3Rs principles.
* Ensuring processes and routines are legally compliant and support high scientific and welfare standards.
* Engaging stakeholders to deliver excellence and support a world‑leading academic research community.
Qualifications
* Significant experience in the biomedical research sector, working under the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 and relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g., VSA, AWA 2006).
* Experience and awareness of named role responsibilities and excellence in research delivery.
* Strong commitment to stakeholder engagement, delivering excellence, and supporting a culture of care.
