Department: Supply chain Location: Portsmouth Description Are you an experienced Stores and Stock Supervisor looking for your next role in Portsmouth? CSM2, a specialist equipment manufacturer supplying maritime atmosphere control systems and support services has an exciting opportunity to join their supply chain team. The Stores and Stock Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the stores and stockroom, ensuring accurate inventory management, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. This role involves managing stock levels, coordinating with departments, and supervising staff to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of the stores and stockroom, supporting the organisation's overall efficiency and productivity. Key Responsibilities Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock quantities. Conduct regular stock checks and cycle counts to ensure accuracy. Identify and address inventory discrepancies. Stockroom Operations: Supervise the receipt, storage, and issuance of materials and equipment. Ensure the stockroom is organised, clean, and safe. Implement and maintain stockroom procedures and policies. Staff Supervision: Lead and supervise stores and stockroom staff, providing training and guidance. Assign tasks and monitor performance, addressing any issues. Foster a positive and productive work environment. Order Fulfilment: Coordinate with departments to ensure timely and accurate order fulfilment. Manage pick lists, packing, and shipping processes. Reporting and Analysis: Prepare reports on inventory levels, stock movements, and other relevant metrics. Analyse data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and procedures. Maintain a safe working environment, addressing any hazards or issues. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment. Knowledge of inventory management principles and best practices. Certification in inventory management (e.g., CPIM) is a plus. Experience of working in the Defence Sector and managing GFE ‘Government Furnished equipment’ Proven experience of UK Import/Export compliance legislation and ITAR/EAR 99 compliance requirements Strong organisational and time management skills. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office. Strong knowledge of quality management systems and standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001). Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment Able to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with stakeholders. Able to manage time effectively, prioritise tasks and achieve set targets. Familiarity with an integrated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system Familiarity with an integrated Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system
