We are currently recruiting on behalf of an established refrigeration contractor formed in 1980, delivering specialist refrigeration and HVRF installations across the UK.
Following a recent call with the client, they have secured a major project at a large Science Centre in Central Manchester. The programme is expected to run for 9 months, potentially extending to 12 months, with commissioning beyond that.
The requirement is for a non working Site Supervisor to oversee the refrigeration package on site, allowing the Project Lead to focus on commercial and sales responsibilities.
Start date: April 2026
Project duration: 9 to 12 months
Location: Central Manchester
Rate: £260 per shift
The Role
This is a supervisory position, not a tool based role.
You will be responsible for:
• Overseeing refrigeration installation works on a large scale commercial project
• Managing 4 to 6 engineers on site
• Ensuring all RAMS, permits and documentation are updated and compliant
• Attending site meetings and liaising with the main contractor
• Monitoring safety and compliance across the refrigeration package
• Acting as the primary on site supervisor once the initial mobilisation period is complete
You will work alongside the client’s Project Lead, who will initially be on site to set the project up before stepping back into a more oversight role.
Ideal Background
The client has been clear on this.
Refrigeration experience is strongly preferred.
This is not a ventilation only position. Previous experience managing refrigeration installations is important.
Experience with HVRF systems would be highly advantageous, although not essential.
You must be comfortable dealing with major contractors and operating within structured, compliance driven environments.
What We Are Looking For
• SSSTS minimum, SMSTS considered
• Valid Gold Card
• First Aid
• Proven supervisory experience on refrigeration projects
• Strong paperwork and compliance management
• Confident communicator with experience dealing with large clients
The right individual may be brought in early if they are the correct fit.
Why This Role
• Long term project stability
• High profile commercial project
• Structured programme through to early 2027
• Opportunity to work closely with a well established contractor
• Potential extension depending on performance
Application Process
Initially, we will shortlist suitable candidates and provide an overview to the client before progressing to Teams interviews.
If you have refrigeration supervisory experience and are based within commuting distance of Manchester, we would like to hear from you
