Bank House Care Home is seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to support the Home Manager in delivering outstanding care to our residents. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of the home in the Manager's absence and ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory and legal requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Management
* Support the Home Manager in the overall management of the home.
* Provide leadership and supervision to care and support staff.
* Step into the Home Manager's role during periods of absence, ensuring seamless continuity of service.
* Ensure staff rotas are prepared and maintained efficiently to meet residents' needs and home requirements.
* Be face on the floor and work along side staff.
* Conduct investigation meetings, appraisals and staff observations.
* Lead group meetings on a regular basis in the absence of the Manager.
* Be part of the on call rota to give support to the Seniors on duty.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
* Ensure the home meets and exceeds all regulatory requirements, including those set by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
* Lead or assist in the preparation and submission of CQC documentation and compliance reports.
* Ensure all safeguarding concerns are raised appropriately and in a timely manner, working closely with external agencies when necessary.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices in care and regulatory requirements.
* Oversee Training and ensure that staff have completed within set time frames.
Clinical & Care Management
* Oversee medication management and administration in line with policies and procedures.
* Support in the development and implementation of individual care plans and assessments.
* Submit and manage Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) applications.
* Report incidents under RIDDOR regulations accurately and promptly.
* Promote a culture of dignity, respect, and person-centred care within the home.
* Ensure service plans and contracts are up to date including Fire simulations.
Communication & Liaison
* Act as a point of contact for residents, families, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders.
* Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care for residents.
* Provide clear and consistent communication to staff and ensure policies are understood and adhered to.
Person Specification:
Essential:
* Previous experience in a senior care role within a residential or nursing home setting.
* Experience creating and managing rotas.
* Experience of Payroll
* Strong understanding of CQC standards and experience with regulatory submissions.
* Experience in raising safeguarding concerns and liaising with safeguarding teams.
* Knowledge of and experience with Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS).
* Familiarity with RIDDOR reporting requirements.
* Experience in medication management.
* Ability to lead by example and manage staff effectively.
* Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
* Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and on-call as required.
Desirable:
* NVQ Level 3 or higher in Health & Social Care (or equivalent).
* Experience with electronic care planning and rota management systems.
* Previous experience in a Deputy Manager role or similar leadership position.

This position is full time, 5 days a week and the right candidate must be flexible with working hours due to the needs of the business.
