Job Description
To provide day-to-day 24-hour care to a group of young people, some of whom may have physical or learning disabilities, Autism, or may have suffered neglect or abuse. All may display challenging behavior.
The role involves working unsocial hours, including shifts on a rota that may include weekends and bank holidays.
Responsibilities include shopping, cleaning, cooking, assisting children with personal care and hygiene, and performing tasks similar to those a parent would do.
Additional duties involve obtaining, transmitting, and recording information verbally, in writing, and electronically, engaging in physical activities and leisure tasks, and managing access to petty cash or monies for outdoor activities.
You will be responsible for young people's belongings and money, and for the use of equipment and property related to your duties.
Supervising children/young people overnight during trips and holidays as required, and attending meetings or appointments at doctors, schools, or social work offices across the district as needed.
