About the Role
Mitie has an exciting opportunity for a Security Officer in our Plymouth & Cornwall Area. Enjoy discounted benefits and gain high-quality experience within the security industry. Full training and a quality induction will be provided.
Responsibilities
* Act as a visual deterrent on the shop floor
* Safely detain offenders following H&S training
* Utilize store security systems, including CCTV and EAS gates
* Collaborate with covert security operatives
* Investigate losses and support inquiries about known offenders
* Complete accurate incident reports and company documentation
* Report crime incidents using a company-provided tablet
* Conduct routine patrols to ensure customer safety
* Record patrols in daily activity sheets
* Provide security updates during store briefings
* Conduct shift handovers to ensure service continuity
* Maintain a safe and secure environment for all
Qualifications
* SIA Door Supervision or Security Guarding License
* Five-year checkable employment history or documentary evidence of any period of unemployment, self-employment, or education
* Due to the nature of this position, we can only proceed with candidates who have a full driver's licence and access to their own vehicle.
Desirable Experience
* Previous experience in a retail security role
