A visionary, globally recognised design studio known for reshaping skylines and redefining sustainable architecture, is on the lookout for an Environmental Performance / Sustainability Specialist to join it’s buzzing Central London studio. If successful you will be joining a world class Environmental Performance team, and, with a shared ethos of innovation and impact, work together across design, research and strategic leadership teams to embed performance at the heart of project design. You’ll collaborate across disciplines and geographies, engaging with project teams from early concept through delivery, driving strategies that influence form, materiality, and long-term environmental outcomes. Projects span the UK, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the US, from complex urban developments to pioneering high-performance buildings. This role would be perfect for an Environmental or Sustainability Specialist from architecture seeking greater ownership and long-term progression within a studio that encourages innovation and offers opportunities to contribute to international conferences and publications.
Job Description
* As part of the London-based yet global environmental performance team, you’ll contribute to the analysis, simulation, and design integration of sustainable building strategies. Working closely with the design team to global peers, your role will include:
* Conducting environmental and energy simulations covering daylight, wind, carbon, and thermal performance.
* Providing design-led analysis and guidance throughout concept and technical stages.
* Leading energy modelling and compliance studies for UK projects, including Part L and Part O.
* Developing BREEAM-aligned sustainability strategies and advising on early design integration.
* Supporting business development and project pursuits, crafting sustainability narratives and analysis for bids.
* Training and mentoring design teams on evolving tools, technologies, and sustainable design practices.
* Participating in research, publications, and conferences, contributing to the studio’s ongoing leadership in the field.
Key Skills
* Demonstrable experience working in building performance, environmental design, or sustainability consultancy, ideally within an architectural or integrated design studio.
* Degree in architecture, building science, or environmental engineering with a strong foundation in design thinking.
* Proven capability in energy modelling and performance analysis, with practical experience of Part L / Part O compliance.
* Proficiency in Rhino and Grasshopper, including plugins such as Ladybug and Honeybee.
* Working knowledge of Revit and BIM workflows is essential, confident extracting and analysing model data.
* Experience with One Click LCA and understanding of the RICS Whole Life Carbon Framework desirable.
* Excellent communication skills, able to bridge the gap between data and design narrative.
* Strong ability in working across diverse and varied design teams, and ability to coherently express and present ideas
