What's involved with this role: Job Title: Town Planner Ref: NE Lincolnshire 5274281 Pay rate: £31.70 per hour PAYE Role length: Anticipated 6 months Working Arrangement: Hybrid working The role: We are seeking a competent and professional Town Planner to support the planning service to ensure that it delivers a first-class service to its customers and fully contributes to delivering sustainable development and growth in the area. Key responsibilities: Support the statutory planning function by managing a caseload of complex planning applications, including preparing accurate and concise reports, attending committee and preparing appeal statements Deliver a first-class customer service Enable sustainable development and growth through timely, high quality, planning decisions Contribute towards and take a lead on the implementation of specific projects aimed at improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the service Make recommendations on behalf of the Council on planning and related applications Lead on the management and delivery of major and sensitive planning application decisions, including pre-application discussions Contribute to multi-disciplinary teams in the resolution of issues to deliver sustainable growth and development Act as an expert planning witness at planning appeal Inquiries and Hearings What the client is looking for: 3 years’ experience of working within a Town Planning Environment Possess a Planning degree or be working towards a degree and have or be working towards full Chartered membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) Experience of drafting Committee reports and making professional recommendations Experience of planning appeals Previous experience of working on schemes requiring robust and innovative approaches to sensitive or potentially contentious issues Drive and determination with the ability to work on your own initiative to meet client’s expectations Ability to plan, prioritise and organise own and teams work to meet deadlines Effective communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise way, both verbally and in writing Proficient IT skills especially Microsoft Office Flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the service and any changes How to Apply: Quote the Job Title and Reference Number in your application.
