Role Overview:
Long O Donnell are seeking an experienced Cost Estimator with the objective to successfully support the Cost Planning team with exciting Hydrogen projects in the DH1 area. This role requires someone with experience in Hydrogen and Utilities and experience of cost planning techniques for the financial control of projects during design development stages.
Duties include:
* Produce accurate and comprehensive estimates and master a Cost Plan in a timely and efficient manner.
* Manage the estimating process for a procurement model, including Chairing coordination meetings.
* Provide Periodic Reports for Summary of estimates complete, Future workload and Issues and status of information outstanding
* Provide Quarterly updates for the Project Cost Plan / Estimate and status against Benchmarking targets.
* Develop and promote estimating good practice whilst liaising with the supply chain partners.
* Produce estimates /cost plans in accordance with the estimating company procedures and the Cost Planning company Procedure. Undertake the role of “Cost Planning Manager”, as defined. Apply and use recognised, appropriate method of measurement rules in the preparation of all estimates and quantification.
* Produce unit cost modelling, and costs analysis.
* Support the commercial team with tender and/or contract price analysis and reference to baseline and revised estimates.
* Support collation of data for KPIs as defined and required.
Requirements:
* Experience in the Hydrogen and utilities REQUIRED
* Experience in management of a team of estimators and suppliers (DESIRED)
* Excellent presentation skills
* Experience on a complex multi-disciplinary project at a senior level
* Experience of cost planning techniques for the financial control of projects during design development stages
* Understanding of project management, planning, and risk processes
