Job Description
Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for a qualified and dedicated Maths Teacher to join a specialist SEN school in the Totton area. This role is ideal for a passionate educator who is committed to supporting students with additional needs and delivering engaging maths lessons in a nurturing environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Maths on a full-time basis to students with a range of special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and moderate learning difficulties.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated Maths lessons tailored to individual student needs
* Adapt teaching strategies to support a range of learning abilities and communication styles
* Create a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
* Work collaboratively with SENCOs, teaching assistants, and other support staff
* Monitor and assess student progress, maintaining accurate records
* Support students’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
* Experience teaching Maths at secondary level
* Experience working with pupils with SEN in either a mainstream or specialist setting
* Strong understanding of differentiation and inclusive teaching strategies
* Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
* A patient, proactive, and empathetic approach

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
