Base pay range
Location: Northampton
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 p/a benefits
Contract: Permanent, 35 hours per week (Monday – Friday)
Benefits: 30 days annual leave, Health Cover, free onsite parking, personal training budget, sporting event tickets and discounts.
About The Opportunity
Our client partners with organizations making a difference daily. They seek a Finance Director with strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and operational excellence. The role involves shaping future plans, ensuring robust processes, controls, and best practices, and acting as a business partner at the board level. Building financial awareness across departments and developing teams are key responsibilities. This is a chance to contribute to social change through education and inclusion programs, ensuring effective use of funds to grow and evolve these initiatives. You’ll be a key voice influencing organizational direction.
What You’ll Be Getting Into
* Act as a strategic finance partner to the CEO and leadership team, influencing plans and decisions.
* Lead financial reporting, planning, forecasting, and risk management, keeping stakeholders informed.
* Ensure financial controls, compliance, and governance across the charity.
* Develop KPIs, social value metrics, and an Impact Report to showcase organizational impact.
* Manage the use of Salesforce and data to support decision-making.
* Oversee VAT, payroll, gift aid, pensions, and investments.
* Support and line-manage a small finance team, planning for succession.
* Partner with department heads to foster financial understanding and smart decision-making.
What They’re Looking For
* Experience in senior finance roles with strategic and hands-on leadership.
* Qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CIPFA or similar).
* Proficiency with Xero or similar accounting software and Microsoft 365.
* Ability to translate complex financial data into understandable language.
* Knowledge of financial risk management, cybersecurity, fraud controls.
* Experience with audits, statutory accounts, and board presentations.
