University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is delighted to offer an opportunity to join our expanding Project Management Office as a Senior Cost Improvement Manager. This role involves leading and supporting strategic work to improve the value for money delivered within our health services.
Responsibilities
* Lead and support strategic work to improve the value for money delivered within our health services.
* Drive the development and implementation of projects to improve cost‑effectiveness.
* Work with colleagues across a range of departments, including senior and junior staff.
* Identify improvement opportunities through benchmarking services with peer organisations, agreeing areas for investigation with leaders and experts, analysing service expenditure and performance, and consulting with staff who deliver the service.
* Ensure that the financial value of improvements identified and delivered is reported accurately, working systematically and in detail with clinical departments, the Project Management Office, and the wider financial department.
Qualifications & Skills
* Proactive and inquisitive approach to work.
* Motivated to improve NHS services and the way NHS money is spent.
* Ability to work with and influence others in senior positions.
* Good standard of numeracy and computing skills, including Excel.
* Enjoy variety and a dynamic environment.
* Formal financial qualifications may be advantageous but are not essential.
* Experience in the NHS or transferable skills from other employment are welcomed.
