We are currently seeking a Time-Served Manual / Semi-CNC Turner to join our client's engineering team in Cwmbran. This is a permanent opportunity offering long-term stability, excellent benefits, and the chance to work within an ISO9001-accredited environment.
The Role
The successful candidate will be involved in machining one-offs to small batches of components weighing up to 3 tonnes. Responsibilities include:
* Operating manual lathes and semi-CNC lathes
* Using a manual centre lathe and tooling to machine components to drawing specifications
* Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
* Working to tight tolerances and high-quality standards
* Complete tool setting, including understanding cutting speeds and feeds
* Using measurement and inspection equipment (verniers, micrometres, bore gauges, etc.)
* Maintaining a safe, clean and organised working environment in line with ISO9001 standards
Experience in milling or welding is highly desirable.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
* Is time served with proven experience on manual and/or semi-CNC lathes
* Ideally has milling and/or welding experience
* Has strong attention to detail and can work to tight tolerances
* Is competent in tool setting, with knowledge of cutting speeds and feeds
* Can confidently use measurement and inspection tools
* Has around 3 years' engineering experience (preferred)
* Is highly motivated, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively as part of a team
